Tim McKindlay,  Vice Chairman

Tim returned to the family farm in 1995 after completing a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics at the University of New England, Armidale.  He currently operates a mixed farming/grazing enterprise with his father, Jamie, partner Tracey McDonald and their two young sons Angus and Sam.  Their farms are located between Barham and Deniliquin with irrigation water supplied by Murray Irrigation Ltd.  Tim joined SRI in 1999 and became Deniboota Landholders Association Chairman in September 2000.
Tim believes that irrigation has a bright future as farmers have always displayed an ability to adapt to change through the adoption of improved practices.  His involvement with the Barmah/Millewa Consultative Reference Group illustrates his desire to see environmental water used effectively and efficiently so as to enable a successful balance between food production and environmental needs being met with the available water.
